KC’s Curiosity box website

In January, I made a start on creating an eCommerce website that involved buying specialized bears from TVs and comic cons that were handmade. I first had to decide what platform to build it in, I choose SquareSpace due to its easiness to upload products, tags and categories, which would be essential to the website I would be building. I then started making a test website, which I made into a video which you can see below.

When starting to make the real website, I found that it was easy to implement the products onto the site a video of this can be seen below. I also found the making of a contact form and responsiveness for other devices straightforward to do.

A problem which I found was having to add custom CSS in order to get certain elements that SquareSpace could’t do. For example the client wanted to have a search bar at the center of the website, however SquareSpace restrictions meant I had to put it at the top right hand side.

In conclusion I found that when using SquareSpace for an Ecomerce website I would recommend using it for its easy of use towards making a shop site, but if you need to add a lot of elements then make sure you know what restrictions SquareSpace have as you might need to add custom CSS.
